Discover our innovative special machines

Agfar offers high-quality special machines for microtechnology, the watch industry and for any production with sensitive processes. Our machines have been known and appreciated in various branches of industry for over 40 years.

The six steps — from initial conversation to delivery

Agfar has already developed a variety of special machines, systems, manual workstations and automatic machines and has put them into operation with customers in a wide variety of industries.
Our systems work productively and meet the individual needs of our customers in a wide range of industries.
People often ask us about our area of expertise — our answer is clear: Any project in which small and fine parts have to be sorted, delivered, distributed, connected or otherwise processed and cannot be completed “off the shelf”. We live for special machine construction and micromechanics! Together with you as a customer, Agfar builds your company-specific machine in six steps. Here is an overview:

1.

From contact to concept development to offer

Based on your specifications, a kickoff meeting will determine the exact requirements, outline initial ideas and discuss variants. A personal visit to the work processes and work environment at your site allows a deeper understanding of requirements. The result of this concept phase is the offer, i.e. our specification, which usually contains an exact cost statement as well as images and image descriptions of the CAD design.

2.

Engineering - Design and Software Development

Our engineers plan, discuss and develop the concepts until the machine guarantees optimum performance requirements on paper; always in close cooperation with you as a customer. Right from the start, the software department is involved in the design of the system; this is essential today, as the software of a machine is a central component. It allows a wide variety of individual options; it is the software that makes a machine an Industry 4.0 machine.

3.

Manufacturing - Real things are created

Agfar's polymechanics and CNC mechanics mill, turn, drill, erode and grind all components required to build the machine. We purchase large components such as base frame, base plate and protective housings from long-standing partners who manufacture these elements in accordance with our requirements.

4.

Assembly - put together what belongs together

Our assembly mechanics and automation engineers assemble the machine: They build the control cabinet and connect the individual elements of the system, both mechanically and electrically. The machine is taking shape! The culmination of this phase, a central milestone, is the “power-up”: de-energizing the machine.

5.

Start-up - breathe “life” into it

Designers, software engineers and start-up engineers work closely together during this hot phase. After initial setups and movement tests, the stations and elements of the system are put into operation, adjusted, programmed, coordinated, corrected and optimized until the individual elements as well as the machine as a whole show the desired performance. Agfar is commissioned in a special room with cleanliness, air conditioning and a quiet working environment.

6.

Delivery and installation

Special moments happen: The machine at Agfar by you as a customer and the training of your machine operators. After acceptance, the machine is prepared for shipping.
After receipt, our specialists in your company start up the machine on site: production starts!

Examples

Rotary transfer machines

Rotary transfer machines

Classic rotary transfer machines: They allow several work steps to run in parallel and are hard to beat in terms of productivity for watches, medical and electronic components.

Linear machines

Linear machines

Linear machine concepts are ideal for sensitive processes. As only one tool is used for each process, which does not rotate on a rotary table, highly complex designs with various monitoring systems and movements can be realized. Another advantage is the convenient accessibility to the individual stations.

  • Joining, pressing, riveting, flanging, welding
  • For watches, medical and electronic components, etc.
  • Optionally integrated: Image processing, quality control
Laser integrations

Laser integrations

Processing and welding with light is a fascinating matter: one of our core competencies!

  • Laser welding systems
  • Laser cutting systems
  • Combined laser welding and cutting systems
  • Laser drilling systems
  • Laser marking systems
Manual workstations

Manual workstations

Semi-automatic machines are superior to fully automatic machines for certain sensitive production processes. Agfar designs semi-automatic machines with the greatest possible ergonomics in mind: the result is flexible, employee-specific workstations.
